RS2
Rim Chung's RS2 is a minimalist masterpiece designed to imitate the emerging Baetis nymph in the film — the exact moment of vulnerability when trout are most selective. The wisp of CDC or poly yarn represents the partially opened wing case. Fish it on 6X tippet just below the surface during BWO hatches on slow spring creeks and tailwaters like the South Platte and Bighorn.

Materials
- hook: Dry fly or scud hook #18–24
- thread: Gray, olive, or black 10/0
- tail: Microfibbets or hackle fibers (few strands)
- body: Fine gray or olive dubbing, smooth
- wing: Small bunch of CDC or gray poly yarn
Tying steps
- Mount a size 18–24 dry fly or scud hook; start 10/0 thread at the bend.
- Tie in 2–3 Microfibbets or hackle fibers as a sparse tail, one body-length long.
- Dub an extremely fine, smooth body of gray or olive dubbing from the bend to the 3/4 mark.
- Tie in a tiny wisp of CDC or gray poly yarn at the 3/4 mark; this represents the wing bud.
- Separate the CDC into two small halves and post each slightly to the sides.
- Build a small thread head in front of the wing, covering any exposed material butts.
- Whip finish with a 3-turn whip, then apply the thinnest possible coat of head cement with a needle tip.
- Apply a tiny whip finish and add a micro-drop of head cement to the thread head.
