Perdigon
The Perdigon (Spanish for 'pellet' or 'lead shot') originated in French and Spanish competition fishing and has spread worldwide. Its glossy UV-resin body sinks with extraordinary speed, cutting through fast currents to reach the bottom without split shot. The smooth lacquered shell reflects light and creates a translucent effect unlike traditional dubbing. Fish it tight-line on a long rod, dead-drifting along the bottom through fast runs and pocket water.

Materials
- hook: Czech nymph curved hook #12–16
- thread: Black or red 70D
- bead: Tungsten bead (heavy, 3.5mm)
- tail: Coq de Leon fibers
- body: Thread or colored wire, smooth
- ribbing: Contrasting thread color, visible under resin
Tying steps
- Slide a heavy 3.5mm tungsten bead onto a size 12–16 curved Czech nymph hook; mount hook.
- Start black or red 70D thread; tie in 2–3 Coq de Leon fibers as a short tail.
- Wind a smooth underbody of thread from tail to bead; build a slight taper.
- Wrap colored wire or contrasting thread over the underbody as visible ribbing.
- Apply thin UV resin over the entire body in 2–3 coats, curing between each coat.
- Finish the collar behind the bead with black thread wraps.
- Whip finish behind the bead and apply a final coat of UV resin.
- Cure the UV resin over the body for 30 seconds, building 2–3 thin coats for a smooth finish.
