Marabou Muddler
The Marabou Muddler combines the classic Muddler's deer hair head with a marabou wing — creating a pattern that breathes and pulses even more than the original. The spun deer hair head pushes water on the strip, creating vibration that fish detect with their lateral lines. Fish it on a sinking line on the bottom, retrieved with an erratic jerky motion to imitate a startled sculpin. One of the deadliest large-trout streamers in the East.

Materials
- hook: 3X long streamer hook #2–8
- thread: Brown 6/0
- tail: Mottled turkey quill
- body: Flat gold tinsel
- wing: White or yellow marabou
- overwing: Mottled turkey quill
Tying steps
- Mount a size 2–8 3XL hook; start brown thread at the bend.
- Tie in a mottled turkey quill tail.
- Wind flat gold tinsel body from tail to the 2/3 mark.
- Tie in a full white or yellow marabou wing at the 2/3 mark.
- Add a mottled turkey quill overwing on each side.
- Spin natural deer hair forward to the eye to fill the head.
- Clip deer hair head into a sculpin bullet shape; whip finish and cement.
- Apply head cement to the thread wraps behind the deer hair head; trim head to a tapered bullet shape.
