Cascade
The Cascade is a modern Scottish salmon fly with a distinctive orange body and dark wing, designed to work in a wide range of water conditions from high spring floods to the low clear water of summer. Its simple but striking orange-and-black color combination and Mobile wing material provides excellent movement even in slow currents. A consistent producer on Scottish rivers from April through October, particularly for fresh-run fish that have entered from the sea within 48 hours.

- body: Hot orange Antron or SLF dubbing
- ribbing: Oval silver tinsel
Tying steps
- Mount a salmon hook; start black thread.
- Tie in a yellow or orange floss tag at the bend.
- Add a golden pheasant crest tail.
- Wind oval silver tinsel rib.
- Wind hot orange Antron or SLF dubbing body to the 2/3 mark.
- Counter-wrap silver rib over the body.
- Tie in a black hackle collar.
- Tie in a dark bronze mallard or Mobile hair wing; build a neat head and lacquer.
